New SEO forum!

Recently me and my partner / friend Markus Jalmerot (also a swedish guy) launched a new search engine optimization forum!.
The url is www.seoforum.us and anyone that is interested in discussions about SEO are very welcome to make a few posts….

The registration process is really simple and will only steal a few minutes of your time….
Since the forum is brand new there are of course some minor bugs to take care of, but it is functional for anyone to use so if you ever want to learn/discuss SEO our forum is the right place to ask the questions.

Our SEO forum also contains some interesting categories such as a marketplace where you can buy, sell and trade links, websites etc…

The forum itself is running on a script called PHPBB which is a very common forum script and so far most of the important settings seem to be playing nicely Of course there is still a lot of SEO to be done, for example more URL rewrites and installing various mods etc….
I just got the rss to work so if you have a RSS reader like Feedreader or something simular you can use this RSS URL (http://www.seoforum.us/rss.php) to get the latest news from our SEO Forum

I also want to mention that we are planning to release some very good posts/stickys about linkbuilding etc
Since we want this forum to be succesful we actually are going to release some really juice stuff about SEO that I at least never have talked about before….

What better place to check it then at Google themeselves

I found an interesting piece of small info at Google sitemaps. If you log in to your Google sitemaps account and select a website then select “statistics” after that click on the “crawl stats” link.
Now you will find a small box telling you which one of your pages has the highest pagerank, this is how it looks for this specific domain:

Well! perhaps not hot news exactly! but!! the interesting thing here is that Google sitemaps crawl stats displays my SEO contest site at the page with the highest pagerank when in fact that page only has a pr 4 if you look at Google toolbar. Other sites on this domain has a pr of 5-6 and really shouldnt they be the ones displayed if this tool was according to Google toolbar Pagerank.
So if my theory works here my SEO contest site will be a minimum PR 6 the next toolbar update…
I guess this is an highly accurate PR checker since it is brought to you by Google themselves

Yet another SEO contest this time the selected keyphrase is: “carcasherdotcom seocontest”
Apperently it doesn´t end until 31 december, so still plenty of time to optimize for carcasherdotcom seocontest.

This carcasherdotcom seocontest started at February 1st, 2006 and according to a thread on Digital points forum they announced the keyword phrase carcasherdotcom seocontest before the contest even started ??? lol….

Tool for checking IP numbers for domains

This is a great tool! You can check multiple URL´s up to 10 at once.
The reason for use this tool in SEO purposes is that you can see at what Class C ip your inlinks for example is located.
A perfect time to use this tool would be if you are offered many links from various domains from the same person.

It is important to have many inlinks from various IP numbers when you are promoting your website, Google seems to devalue if you have all your incoming links from the same class C ip.

Here is a picture on how it looks:

As you can see in this specific image it is obvious that domain nr 5-9 is located at the same IP.

The reason why Google devalues inlinks from the same Class C IP is to avoid webmasters from building huge networks of sites linking to each other I believe.
But of course you are allowed to own and operate a large number of sites, if you are doing just that you might want to consider using various webhosts.

Easy way to get high quality content to your site and meanwhile get valuable links

Ok this is so obvious, I can´t believe that I didn´t think of this yet..
It´s a strategy based upon putting friends and partners feeds in a category in your own blog.

So what? Who cares…
I do! and blog owners that wants more visitors and valuable links do.

Strategy
Let´s say you have a popular blog with many inlinks and a high Pagerank 6 for example.
This means that all of your categories in the blog will get a PR of 4 or 5 most certain.
Now take the fact that people actually pay good money be listed in websites with high PR and popularity.
Right now you problably kind of get what´s the general idea here!
So what you can offer for the blogowners that wants the word out about their blog, is an entire post containg let´say 5 to 10 of their latest posts.
This will pass both PR and visitors to their blogs and you can ask them for a high quality link in return.
To get this to work you you will simply just have to download a plugin explained beneath.

Here is a tool that let´s you check your backlinks….
Nothing special with that but the good part is that it also shows the pagerank of the website that your links are on.
