Tool for checking IP numbers for domains

This is a great tool! You can check multiple URL´s up to 10 at once.
The reason for use this tool in SEO purposes is that you can see at what Class C ip your inlinks for example is located.
A perfect time to use this tool would be if you are offered many links from various domains from the same person.

It is important to have many inlinks from various IP numbers when you are promoting your website, Google seems to devalue if you have all your incoming links from the same class C ip.

Here is a picture on how it looks:

As you can see in this specific image it is obvious that domain nr 5-9 is located at the same IP.

The reason why Google devalues inlinks from the same Class C IP is to avoid webmasters from building huge networks of sites linking to each other I believe.
But of course you are allowed to own and operate a large number of sites, if you are doing just that you might want to consider using various webhosts.

Create a user friendly sitemap

This is a post on how to create a user friendly sitemap for Wordpress blogs.

This Includes 2 steps

STEP 1

Download and install the XML sitemap generator

Link to plugin site: google-sitemaps-generator-v2-final

Send in your sitemap to Google sitmaps.
If you do not already have a Google sitemap account sign up here

You should now have a fully working .xml Google sitemap.

STEP 2

Visit Enarion.net and download gss-1.5a.zip

Upload the file to your server.

Now as you can see at the style sheet page you are instructed to add:

< ?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="gss.xsl"?>
directly under
< ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

in your sitemap.xml file.

But the problem is that each time your sitemap.xml file gets regenerated it over writes your precious < ?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="gss.xsl"?> command.

How do we solve the problem then?

Just add this piece of code in your sitemap.php file which should be located at: /yourdomain.com/wp-content/plugins/sitemap.incl.lang/

$s=’< ?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="gss.xsl"?>‘. “\n”;

The code should be placed directly under:
$s=’< ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"' . '?' . '>‘. “\n”;

(If you can not find that piece of code use the search function on your FTP client.)

That´s it! now your sitemap.xml is compatible both to Google sitemaps and for visitors to use.

Yes this blog thing is sure great!
The possibilities are almost endless I feel!
Strange thing that i didn´t discover this until now….
Perhaps it´s because I am living in a cave in Sweden No it´s not that bad….

Yes feeds! It´s so obvius but yet many people miss it!

Configure .htaccess for Google

There are always 2 version of your domain which are identical but uses different names.
The one with the .www and the one without.

For example:
1: http://www.marcuswestberg.com
2: http://marcuswestberg.com

It seems that both those adresses are the same, but Google looks at them in a different way.
When you receive links from people they link to your page with and without the .www, which ends up in different pagerank for your 2 versions of the domain name.

Now to the good part You can redirect so that only one version of your domain name receive all the pagerank from both adresses.

Add this piece of code to your .htaccess file

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain\.com
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [R=permanent,L]
